Finally after a long wait, Huawei has launched its flagship P9 smartphone in India, which is big on photography. It is priced at Rs 39,999.
The Huawei P9’s forte is its rear camera. Or rather two rear cameras. A 12-megapixel dual lens camera that is made in collaboration with Leica, the 102 year old renowned camera maker. The two lenses capture monochrome and color separately and fuses them together resulting in images with more detail, especially in low light.
But the camera is not the only strong point of phone. It is powered by Kirin 955 64-bit Octacore processor with 3/4GB of RAM, sporting a 5.2-inch fullHD display, along with 32/64GB of storage and a 3000mAH battery.
It runs Android Marshmallow out of the box with Huawei’s EmotionUI 4.1 on top. It also comes with USB-Type C with fast charging support which Huawei claims, will provide 5 hours of talk time with just 10 minutes of charge.
Coming back, the camera is the product of some of the best camera engineering in the market. It is specially designed by Leica and comes fitted with Sony’s IMX286 sensors with f/2.2 aperture. Two lens. 12-megapixel each. One captures in monochrome for the crisp detail. Another captures in RGB color for the lighting. Couple that with a dual-LED flash and a laser auto focus and you have a camera that, on paper, this should give the iPhone 6S a run for its money, but we’ll have to test it out to know for sure. Leica has also designed the camera app of the phone
The Huawei P9 will be available both online on Flipkart and offline for a price of Rs 39,999.
