With the iPhone 7 launched last month, fresh new iPads can’t be that far ahead. According to a KGI report and backed by a Makotakara piece, Apple is planning on bringing out three new iPads just in time for spring in 2017.
While Makotakara has agreed on some details with KGI, a lot others differ. KGI had said earlier that Apple is looking to raise the screen size of the 9.7-inch model to 10.5-inch. Makotakara says the diagonal length of the screen will be 10.1-inch instead of 10.5-inch.
On top of that, the iPad Mini will get the ‘Pro’ tag and will launch as iPad Pro (7.9-inch). It will get the smart connector, 4-speaker audio, iSight camera with 12-megapixel resolution, True Tone flash, True Tone display and more.
The new report suggests it’s not just the iPad Mini, but all three iPads will have the smart connector along with quad-microphones.
With the iPhone 7 ditching the headphone jack, we all had assumed the iPads will follow suit, but Makotakara doesn’t agree with that. Instead, it says all three models will have the 3.5mm headphone jack. However, it has kept quiet on whether the iPads will retain the physical home button to switch over to the touch-sensitive capacitive home button we have seen on the iPhone 7.
